KIA ORA!

We are in New Zealand! We are very excited to fence, sheer, beekeep, build, dig and play in the dirt - not to mention sail, snorkel, backpack, camp, and beachcomb! Cheerio. Verily, A&W

Giant Dunes

Now we are in the Bay of Islands, after a sunny visit to Cape Reinga, Topotupotu Bay, Spirits Bay and 90-Mile Beach. Our plans of tramping around the tip fell through. Good thing too, the wind would have carried us both out to sea. We had a good time though, even though the roads are a bit rough. We finally arranged a WWOOF, thanks to McDonalds and Hackers Internet Cafe. We'll be arriving there, Thames on the Coromandel, the 16th. The farm is building a strawbail house and setting up permaculture on their land. We'll see how we like it there and might stay up to a couple weeks. The sun has been brutal and our feet are feeling the most of it, they are pretty red, especially after our sandboarding. Flying down scortching hot sands on a boogie board, hopefully soon we'll be able to post some pictures soon, we have yet to figure out the card readers in this country. We're both well and having a ball! Until later!

McDonald's comes through in the pinch. It's usually trying to get out through the pinch...Glad to hear you found a project to work on, sounds like a cool one too. I'm feeling not so creative and even less interesting but wanted to let you know that I'm keeping up with what you're doing. Remember, go big or go home...ooh, I think I have to go big at home...bye!

Hi Billy and Autumn
Well can't say I'm 58 anymore! Had a good day--Dan sent flowers and I had a cake at work from Peggy. Glad to hear you have found somewhere to hang your hat. When you have an address let me know. Does Autumn need that card mailed or not? Thinking of you daily. Really glad we have this way to communicate. love you both--enjoy your dream trip!

Hey A&W (sounds like root beer to me!) I just figured out how to do this thing, so here I am. I envy you both, and can relate to Thames! Been there a couple of times myself. Got lost, too! Happy BD, Betty! Life in ME is warm...too warm for snow. 50s plus! School will end soon and then I will have nothing to do but pack more, discard more, and plan my next move. Do watch that sun and heat. Love you both TONS!

Wow - sounds lke you are getting more skiing/snowbarding action than we are here - even if it's on sand! Sounds like you are having a blast - enjoy every minute! Glad to see you made it there safe! MT Christine

Hey Kids
Just looked up Coramandel Penisula--I saw a pic of a place call Cathedral cove--Unimaginable beauty--I sure hope you get to see it. There are some amazing beaches, but this takes your breath away even on a computer image.
