KIA ORA!

We are in New Zealand! We are very excited to fence, sheer, beekeep, build, dig and play in the dirt - not to mention sail, snorkel, backpack, camp, and beachcomb! Cheerio. Verily, A&W

Holidays at the Stewart Farm

We had a quiet holiday, giving ourselves showers and clean laundry as presents. For Boxing Day we had gorgeous weather so we played in the swimming hole and enjoyed the warmth of the sun for the afternoon. We are quickly becoming accustom to mid-morning tea with apricot and yoghurt biscuits. Lunches consist of vege sandwiches with beets (Autumn only) and cottage cheese (William only). Tonight we look forward to another intense game of Scrabble. In our days here on the Coromandel we are enjoying the simpler pleasures; the views, our hosts, and the entertaining chicken. Come the New Year we will be off exploring the rest of the penninsula and headed south, making our way to Tongariro NP for a 4 day hike: the Northern Circuit around Mt. Doom (Ngauruhoe).

Hey kids
It's New Years Eve here. It's finally decided to be winter--snowed yest and there is an ice, sleet thing coming in tonight. Guess that isn't any worry for you. I'll get your stuff together to mail it. Won't be able to mail it till Wed. (Jan 3) All post offices are closed on Tues, a national day of mourning for President Ford. Hope you are taking plenty of pictures of each other and the great things you'll see on the "tramp" to Mt. Doom.
hugs

A&B,

Watch out for that creepy eye thing on the top of the mountain. I've heard it's caused by solar flares. Could you imagine what a case of pink eye would do to that thing? So, I'm back after a lovely time in MN. Glad to hear you are taking life at such a great pace. Bu-bye...
